Midi dresses. Love them or hate them, they're definitely a "trend" that has lasted the test of time, at least for the lingering summer months. As a petite human, I've been easily scared away from totally embracing some of the runway-turned-sidewalk trends (see wide legged pants) in the past.
But midi dresses in the heat of the summer are easy to style and wear time after time. And, surprisingly, most midi dresses don't make me look even shorter than I am – a mid-calf length dress actually does wonder for my height. A few years ago, I found this midi dress hidden away in the Who What Wear section in Target. While I haven't been able to find that exact dress to share with you all, there are some beautiful midi dresses in the online shops right now!
Styling midi dresses, especially if you're under 5'8" can be a little tricky, but I like to stick to a few tried and true styles.
- Midi dress and sneakers
- Midi dresses and chunky heels
Personally, I don't think casual midi dresses look good with an extra high heel – no stilettos with these dresses – but a wedge or a mule with a block heel makes a lovely statement. Then sneakers – like these Sezane Jack sneakers – with a causal midi dress is not only a chic look but a comfy summer outfit too.
