I wear about three pairs of shoes in the summer: a leather sandal, a sneaker, and a linen or breathable fabric-d loafer. I have countless pairs of sneakers (currently wearing these Adidas NMDs and my all-time favorite Sezane sneakers), my tried and true sandal is from TOMS, but I was missing a pair of lightweight, easy breezy summer flats.
My ideal shoe qualifications are pretty strict and I tend to stick to my favorite brands (Adidas, TOMS, Vince Camutos, etc.) Since I was recently gifted two pairs of Kallie & Co. for a photography job and their loafers will be in my rotation for as long as they'll let me.
About the Brand
The first three words on their website pretty much sums up why this brand caught my attention: " Fair Trade. Handmade."
I think now more than ever we are all gaining the courage to speak up, stand up for social causes and deeper issues. If something isn't right in our culture it's up to us to make a difference. As a company, from what I can tell, Kallie and Co. is working to speak up against the extreme injustice in the fashion industry and make a difference by doing things differently themselves.
The company's founder is a women who has a passion for bolstering fair trade and ethical practices in fashion. Each shoe sold on the company's website is handcrafted by a team in Mexico and goes to help women in need.

Styling Summer Flats
Although summer shoes are easy to slip on while walking out the door, there are so many styles and colors and options that I just find myself picking the same pair to go with everything.
Step out of your comfort zone a bit with a pair of lightweight loafers. Pair them with shorts and a blouse for a social distanced concert in the park or wear them with a shirt dress and a denim jacket for a comfy and casual office look.
Even joggers and loafers go together well if you have the right blouse and want to change your look up a little bit. Basically, they're an extremely versatile shoe that can take you from casual to dressy pretty easily. I would suggest, however, finding a neutral you like – like this light grey – so that you're never stuck wondering if light pink shoes are actually something you should be wearing.
