New Books for June

I plan on reading a lot this summer. Winter and summer are ideal reading seasons where the weather might be a bit too extreme to be outside for long stretches of time. So, since June is already here, it's time for long evenings with a good book. And I've picked up a few recently that I'm very excited to dig into.

Here's what I'm planning to read in June (or at least through the summer).

  • The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
"Aiden Bishop knows the rules. Evelyn Hardcastle will die every day until he can identify her killer and break the cycle. But every time the day begins again, Aiden wakes up in the body of a different guest at Blackheath Manor. And some of his hosts are more helpful than others. With a locked-room mystery that Agatha Christie would envy, Stuart Turton unfurls a breakneck novel of intrigue and suspense." - book synopsis pulled from Amazon
  • The Distant Hours
Kate Morton, NYT bestselling author, is a favorite of mine. Her books have the most unexpected and beautiful endings that always makes me tear up. This 2014 published novel is one from her I have yet to read, but am so excited to dig into another one of her stories.
  • Ask Me No Questions

"A modern woman in 1907, Lady Dunbridge is not about to let a little thing like the death of her husband ruin her social life. She's ready to take the dazzling world of Gilded Age Manhattan by storm. From the decadence of high society balls to the underbelly of Belmont horse racing, romance, murder, and scandals abound. Someone simply must do something. And Lady Dunbridge is happy to oblige." - - book synopsis pulled from Amazon

Under the Tuscan Sun

The movie is a favorite of mine for a cozy, comforting film and Fraces Mayes writes about life in Italy in the most beautiful way possible.

After reading and loving Women in Sunlight, I've been looking to fill out my collection from this author.

The Bookshop on the Corner

Admittedly, I've just finished this book 2 nights ago after reading it in almost one sitting. It's a delightful, easy read about books and love and Scotland.

10/10 would recommend and read again.

I know nothing about this book except that the back cover made it sound like a beautiful story I needed to read. Most of the time those types of books turn out to be my favorites.

"Lush and richly imagined, a tale of impossible journeys, unforgettable love, and the enduring power of stories awaits in Alix E. Harrow's spellbinding debut--step inside and discover its magic." - praise for Ten Thousand Doors
