Although in the warm months I typically gravitate toward dresses and skirts (primarily because they’re just that much cooler), shorts are often more practical if I’m moving a lot or trying to run around and get errands done. Over the years, I’ve really refined my shorts’ style and have found a few pairs that I can’t live without during the summer months.
One of those pairs is the J.Crew Boardwalk shorts. They’re lightweight, easy to wear, comfortable, and has the best elastic waistband that adds to their overall comfort. Another plus is that they come in so many colors and patterns that allow you to pair them with any outfit!
For a warm summer day, I prefer to pair these shorts with a lightweight tank or tee and throw on a pair of wedges to give me a little lift and dress up the overall look of the ensemble. Being petite (5′ 1″) I find I can easily wear J Crew’s 3″ inseam without feeling uncomfortable, but if you’re a little taller I love that J. Crew caters to multiple heights with multiple lengths of shorts. These white scalloped 4″ shorts are just so adorable and for a true Bermuda feel these 9″ ones would be perfect with an eyelet top and cute heels.
But no matter how cute a pair of shorts, I typically can’t justify spending too much money on shorts (dresses, that a totally different story!)
